Tony V Fiddles while LA burns

LA's own 11% solution, never one to miss a photo-op or his pictured on a jumbo-tron, spent last night at the Dodger game while LA burned:

Around the fourth inning of the National League Championship Series Monday night, as the hills north of Los Angeles continued to burn, Fox cameras panned
to the dignitaries sitting in the luxury seats.

With its usual host of celebrities and debutantes, the collection of upper crust was noteworthy for only one reason. Amongst the select crowd was Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, who smiled as Derek Lowe was mowing down the Phillies; smiling as thousands in the San Fernando Valley were driven from their homes by two blazes that burned without care; smiling as thick smoke choked parts of four major freeways closed earlier in the day; smiling hours after 19 homes burned; smiling after two had died.
Just makes you feel warm and fuzzy knowing this guy wants to run for governor.

Misogyny & Sexism sets tone in Obama campaign

For those who don't know Tammy Bruce, she is a former feminist from left, former president of the LA chapter of NOW, who was shunned when she spoke out against Bill Clinton during his many sex scandals. Tammy is now feminist for the right!

What would happen if ...

What would happen if a video of David Duke calling John McCain the Messiah surfaced??? Would CNN, MSNBC and FOX News find it newsworthy? Would Katie Couric, Tom Brokaw and Charlie Gibson not lead off with the story?

Well, Louis Farrakhan says that when "Obama talks 'the Messiah is absolutely speaking."
Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, another powerful Chicago-based political figure Associated with the Rev. Jeremiah Wright and other long-time associates of Democratic Party presidential candidate Barack Obama, is leaving no doubt about what he thinks of the leader in the campaign for the White House.

He says when Obama talks "the Messiah is absolutely speaking."

Obama is LYING about ACORN

While the McCain camp keeps bringing up Ayers, it’s ACORN that we should be shining the spotlight on. I can understand why McCain hasn’t brought it up yet; he’d be branded a racist. But with the raids on the ACORN offices this week, which even CNN covered as voter fraud, I don’t think those types of charges will stick.

Read about Obama’s CURRENT ties to ACORN.

ACORN is tied to mortgage mess.

John Fund lays out the tactics of ACORN in his book, Stealing Elections. While ACORN is not the central focus of the book, you will find an eerily familiar story.

The Cleveland Leader: Barack Obama's Involvement with ACORN Unearthed, Missing Article Recovered

And then there is this MUST read article from Stanley Kurtz, NRO contributing editor.

Inside Obama’s Acorn: By their fruits ye shall know them.

What if Barack Obama’s most important radical connection has been hiding in plain sight all along? Obama has had an intimate and long-term association with the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (Acorn), the largest radical group in America. If I told you Obama had close ties with MoveOn.org or Code Pink, you’d know what I was talking about. Acorn is at least as radical as these better-known groups, arguably more so. Yet because Acorn works locally, in carefully selected urban areas, its national profile is lower. Acorn likes it that way. And so, I’d wager, does Barack Obama.

This is a story we’ve largely missed. While Obama’s Acorn connection has not gone entirely unreported, its depth, extent, and significance have been poorly understood. Typically, media background pieces note that, on behalf of Acorn, Obama and a team of Chicago attorneys won a 1995 suit forcing the state of Illinois to implement the federal “motor-voter” bill. In fact, Obama’s Acorn connection is far more extensive. In the few stories where Obama’s role as an Acorn “leadership trainer” is noted, or his seats on the boards of foundations that may have supported Acorn are discussed, there is little follow-up. Even these more extensive reports miss many aspects of Obama’s ties to Acorn.

Primary Do Over

After last night's debate it is more than clear that neither Obama or McCain is capable of handling this nation's economic crisis.

OK. Let's admit it. We, as a collective, voted for the wrong guy during our respective primaries. Susan Estrich agrees:
Politico called it the worst debate ever. I can’t disagree. Frankly, I haven’t seen one that even came close. Two substantial men, and by the end of it (OK, close to the end), everyone watching with me in the hotel lobby was wondering how either of these guys managed to win his party’s nomination.

Socialism, which is what both campaigns are calling for, is not the answer.
So, I'm calling for a Primary Do Over.

Dems - you vote for Hillary.

Reps - we vote for Mitt.

Then, maybe, just maybe, we, as a collective, have a chance.

Why should I pay my mortgage?

With all the talk of buying up bad loans and bankruptcy courts lowering the principal owed on mortgages, I keep asking myself, “why am I still paying my mortgage?”

Even the Republican’s own, John McCain, has jumped onto this socialist idea:

"I would order the secretary of the Treasury to immediately buy up the bad home-loan mortgages in America and renegotiate at the new value of those homes — at the diminished values of those homes — and let people be able to make those payments and stay in their homes," he said.
McCain is calling this the “American Homeownership Resurgence Plan.”

AAugh!!!!!
Each month my mortgage company reaches into my checking account and withdraws $2200 for my 1250 ft condo on the Westside. Why do I continue to do this? If property values are down, maybe I can get my loan realigned and pay less. Why should my lazy, no-good, bums of neighbors who paid too much money for a house in our neighborhood (up to $1 million) be the lucky ones?

Oh, that’s right. I’m a responsible, law-abiding, bill-paying, tax-paying, voter. I don’t count.

Palin Rally - Carson, CA

On Saturday afternoon we faced down the perfect traffic storm to attend the Palin rally.

With our two daughters in tow, we stood in line with 20,000 other conservative. It was incredible standing on the floor of the Home Depot Tennis Center and know that you could speak freely to anyone standing around you. Meg Whitman and Jon Voight kicked things off and got the crowd excited. But, it was the chants of Sarah, Sarah, Sarah that really got crowd going.

Through it all I was most proud of my daughter, age 8. She made her way to the front of the crowd and was able to watch Mrs. Palin from steps away.

At her Westside public school she is proudly asserting that we are supporting McCain-Palin and, better yet, understands why. I am so grateful for this opportunity to talk to my daughter about conservative v. liberal ideals; how her daddy and I believe that all life has value; how we believe that government is more often the problem, than the solution; how democracy must be defended at all costs; how socialism is not our ideal.

We are teaching our children how to hold these ideals dear, but to respect others' opinions as well, for on November 5th we will all be neighbors.

Democrats defend and cover up Fannie Mae

In their own words.

Welcome to the Socialist States of America

Today I am stunned and watch in fear as my country moves from our democratic foundation to what can only be described as a socialist state.

Whatever happened to “Never Again?” after World War II? Yet, here we are, watching the beginning of the end as our country walks down the same path paved by the Socialist Party. I’m not talking about the Final Solution, but how the socialists rose up and took over Germany and Europe.

America today is in an economic crisis, as was Germany in the 1930s. While the German’s blamed the Jewish people, the Democrats are blaming “corporate America.” I don’t expect to see concentration camps set up, but I do promise, on day-one of an Obama presidency, freedom of speech will be the first casualty of our democracy via the Fairness Doctrine.

The redistribution of personal wealth and property will continue.

I predict that the government will continue to nationalize our corporations. It is clear that our elected officials no longer answer to the people, but to themselves, beginning with our own Senator Feinstein:

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) said she has received 82,000 calls or e-mails from constituents opposed to the plan, and only 5,000 supporting it.
Yet she voted for the bill because we, the people, just do not understand. In reality, we, the people, do understand and we don’t like it.

Congress has already begun nationalizing our financial institutions. They will soon move to take over the insurance industry, especially with Senator Reid’s panicked comments today about a major insurer on the verge of bankruptcy. How long before the government nationalizes the oil, gas and energy industry? What’s next after that?

I feared when I saw the 200,000 Germans cheering for Obama. I am panicked about the school room of children singing his praises.

Whether you are a Christian or Jew, the Ten Commandments instruct us that “I am the Lord, your God. You shall have no gods before Me.” How can we sit idle and abide with this?

“Never again.” What does that mean? For me it means that my check book opens today to McCain/Palin. Our family’s time is volunteered at their campaign headquarters. I explain to my children the dangers of the cult of personality and socialism. We will be amongst the masses at the Sarah Palin rally on Saturday.

My vote will count. I will not give up hope. I believe in democracy. I believe in America.
